Where is Heathrow?

To the west of London you will find London's Heathrow Airport which, for many visitors to the UK is the first place they will see. Heathrow is the World's busiest international airport with flights arriving and departing every two minutes. The airport has 4 terminals with a fifth under construction and due to open in 2008. All major airlines are represented at Heathrow, flying to most countries throughout the World. All major hotel groups such as Hilton, Holiday Inn, Ramada and Accor have properties on or nearby to Heathrow Airport. Heathrow has many attractions nearby including the Ascot Racecourse, which stages 25 days of racing every year. Legoland Windsor is laso near to Heathrow and is a great, fun filled day out for families. Also near to Heathrow is the official residence of the Queen of Great Britain at Windsor, home to the oldest, still occupied castle in the World. Windsor Castle has been a royal palace for over 900 years and is open to visitors all year round. One can walk around the state apartments and the view the Queen's private collection of paintings and fine art. The town of Windsor itself is quaint and pretty with interesting little shops and tea rooms.
